With a distinction of being the Pioneer in establishing
Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) and HIPEC as a sub-specialty
in India, Dr. Sanket Mehta leads the first dedicated
“Peritoneal surface oncology department” in the country
at Saifee Hospital along with being the founder member
and president of the Society of Peritoneal Surface
Oncology, India (SPSOi). He also specialises in the
treatment of Gynaecological malignancies, complex
recurrent cancers, RetroPeritoneal sarcomas, laparoscopic
and robotic surgeries.
Owing to the largest single-surgeon experience in the country, Dr. Mehta is equipped to competently handle any peritoneal malignancy as well as complex resections within the abdominal cavity, while maintaining highest ethical standards to ensure safe patient outcomes.

The first of its kind and Dr. Mehta’s brainchild, Specialty Surgical Oncology Hospital and Research Centre (specialtysurgicaloncology.com) at Ghatkopar, Mumbai, was founded with a vision of providing organ-specific cancer care of international standards. Dr. Mehta along with his team of professionals, performs almost all complex surgical procedures at highly economical rates. This includes CRS and HIPEC, complex hepato-pancreato-biliary surgeries and minimal invasive surgeries for various types of intra-abdominal cancers.
They also provide pre and post HIPEC counselling, stoma care therapists along with dietary and nutritional
guidance for patients undergoing major cancer surgeries.
Reevive
Acknowledging the time-bound and resource-intensive nature of cancer treatment, Dr. Mehta also collaborated with the Tata Memorial Hospital to establish Reevive (reevive.org) – an online crowd-funding platform to support under- resourced cancer patients. The platform aims to bridge the gap between donors, pledgers and cancer patients through transparent donations and a hassle-free, impactful experience – because every cancer patient has the right to survive.
